GRADING PROCEDURES:

Traditional Letter Scale- Total Subject Grade

100% - 90% = A      89% - 80% = B     70% - 70% = C     69% - 60% = D     59%  and below = F

Alternative Letter Scale- Standard Skill Scores 

Fourth Grade students will also be graded on a 4-Point Grading Scale that is reflective of the Missouri standardized test they will take in the Spring 

Advanced:  A (96% and above)

Student independently and consistently demonstrates advanced proficiency, and applies a broad range of understanding in different contexts. Student performs at a high level on classroom assessments in relation to grade level expectations. Under personal/social development on the grade card, this means excellent effort.  Your child is going above and beyond what is expected.

Proficient:  P (80% to 95%) 

Student can accomplish all of the objectives proficiently. Student demonstrates adequate performance on classroom assessments in relation to grade level expectations without making significant errors. Under personal and social development on the grade card, this means good effort.  Your child is doing exactly what is expected in the classroom. 

 

Basic:  B (60-79%)

Student can accomplish part of the objectives proficiently. Student demonstrates incomplete performance on classroom assessments in relation to grade level expectations but maintains a basic understanding of the topic.  Under personal and social development on the grade card, this means satisfactory effort is made only when %required or requested.  Your child has room to grow to meet the expectations in the classroom. 

Needs Improvement:  NI (59% and below)

Student has limited understanding of this objective, and improvement is needed. Student demonstrates fragmented performances on classroom assessments in relation to grade level expectations. Under personal/social development on the grade card, this means improvement is needed.  Your child is not meeting the expectations and needs extra work in the classroom to meet proficiency.
